My desire: write children’s books

Here I am, Marina! Accompanied by my little dog Shih Tzu which is called Ecco and who arrived in my life 9 years ago after going through the abandonment all baby, only 2 months old and happily recover by a refuge. He’s the main character of my illustrated children’s books.

Naughty and cuddly, he never separates from his « doudou ». Throughout the books, he has become a character full of mischiefs who traverses the world through many adventures.

The idea: an overflowing imagination

It is during a trip to Italy, the desire took me to draw Ecco and little by little, the idea of a book on a curious and clever little dog appeared to me, surrounded by characters with characters very different from each other. But overwhelmed by exciting work (I have been in the creative life of websites for many years), it took me a lot of time and energy in order to obtain the end result.

The purpose: a very long exciting work

When I said to myself one morning « I’m going to write a children’s book », I did not expect that it requires so much work and skills necessary for the creation and realization of a book. The texts written, in a few days, lying on paper, the drawings finalized in a few months, after having made sketches of the characters, sketches of the sets, elements but then begins the bulk of work with colorization. Finally finished, I had to create the cover of the book and make the printing.

I hope you will have as much fun reading my books as I had to write it.

My best reward

I think many authors will have the same answer as me! When I see a child smiling and laughing while reading one of my adventures, or remembering months or years after characters, this is « my best reward ».

New adventures are planned (when? I don’t know yet).
